SynopsisFrom executive producers and Academy Award Winners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard*, National Geographic’s first-ever scripted series, GENIUS, offers an extraordinary look into the life of Nobel Prize-winning physicist Albert Einstein. Academy Award Winner Geoffrey Rush stars as the rebellious daydreamer who went on to become the greatest scientific mind of the 20th century. Beyond his ground breaking theories of relativity, you’ll witness Einstein’s struggles to be a good husband and father— and a man of principle during a time of global unrest. With Johnny Flynn as young Albert and Emily Watson as his second wife, Elsa, GENIUS takes you on an unprecedented, 10-episode journey of discovery guided by Einstein’s wit, wisdom and insatiable thirst for knowledge.

Was brilliant to watch, thrilling, interesting, and astonishing.
I had watched Genius on national geographic when it was first released and loved it, witch is why I’d decided to buy the DVD set. It is still a brilliant watch! It’s always chilling to see the recreation of the demoralising tensions in war. Especially WW2, as Einstein was Jewish and living in Germany, witnessing Hitler’s Nazi party slowly growing in influence and power around him.The show portrays how Einstein’s relentlessness desire to have his voice heard can contrast against his behaviour within his personal relationships. He is almost always confident to take risks, but while a having “childish” charm (through his humour, mindful-thinking, and “naive” life goals (including wanting to be a physicist)) he can have a strikingly immature side to him that I saw as an insensitive and somewhat apathetic acknowledgement of the feelings of those around him. yes, this may’ve been what allowed him to excel and stand out in his scientific pursuit but could also causes his own social conflict.Of course everyone should make their own opinion, it’s amazing and inspiring to see Einstein prevail at his dreams and ambitions against obstacles. I find his life fascinating, in the ways he developed throughout his life, how he processed thoughts and feelings, how he reacted with some of the unbelievable turbulence of the 20th century.

Parallel narratives: Youth and professor
Startling contrast between the two tales between which we switch. The Einstein of Berlin in 1930s and the swiss school boy. One, he struggles against rising nationalism and anti-semitism. The other, he is trying to imatriculate despite his singular interests, not well adapted a broad curriculum. I look forward to seeing how the (still to come) episodes that cover 1906 and 1914 look, but given this record, expect it to be as enlightening as anyone could wish for.It has high production values, script and great caste. It paints the challenges clearly. The switching is a little disconcerting at first, but n so far as it helps understand where Einstein's enquiring character came from, it is effective. To compare it to 'Einstein and Eddington' (BBC 2008), I found it lighter and more a study of the man. It is not perfect entertainment, but interesting. The BBC film while heavier and going into abit more of the 'science', had more narrative focus and I found more entertaining and engaging.

Too much soap, not enough science
Fantastic production values, sets ,locations, photography, costumes, great acting, ultimately rather depressing to discover how he (miss) treated his ladies. Probable two episodes too long and not enough science.

Il prodotto è buono e soddisfacente. La lingua però è solo inglese. i sottotitoli in inglese e francese. Poteva essere evidenziato meglio. Esiste una versione USA che però anche quella non riporta le caratteristiche della lingua.
