It's a sourdough encyclopedia with great photography and easy to read.
I bought this book 8 months ago (and a sourdough starter kit) to take up sourdough baking in anticipation of retirement and move my retirement home...it's happened! I made my first bread loaves recently, and pancakes from Discard. This book has been my guide all the way. It's much easier than Googling everything. It's an encyclopedia of everything sourdough with a large part of the book containing recipes, which is a huge plus IMO. My favorite part of the book is that no detail is left unexplained (great for beginners like me) and Maurizio always denotes the page number of a step or process he may refer to in a paragraph. It's easy to navigate. You don't have to read the book from start to finish if you don't want to. You can go to the topic that interests you using the Index. I am also a (former) software engineer like the author turned baker, which I didn't know when I purchased the book. That's cool. I highly recommend this book for all levels of bakers, and I thank my BFF for suggesting this gem!!

Excellent Sour Dough Resource
The book is an incredible resource. Very well laid out in content and learning about sour dough in great extent. Its a beautiful book in ots look and esthetic view as well. I had ordered a bound book, but it came as the spiral version. Its great that it lays flat, but it does not look like the paper will hold up to the page turning where the holes are. The spiral coil is plastic.I do appreciate the book, but would have preferred a bound copy. I chose not to return it for exchange because I bought it on sale and the book in any version is worth the price. I do highly recommend.

The finest cookbook for bread!!
I love this cookbook! I’m in the middle of a beginner and intermediate home baker. I made the Pain de Mie Sandwich Bread recipe and ohh my goodness! Best bread I’ve ever eaten!! Can’t wait to try more recipes!! Maurizio is the best teacher! I’m all over the place with other recipes and second guessing all the time and my bread never looks like I expect….but not with Maurizio he makes it so easy to follow and so far the outcome from my first recipe to try tells me I’m going to be very happy with many more recipes!! Thank you to The Perfect Loaf for boosting my confidence in the bread baking world!!

Best comprehensive book to be successful at making sourdough bread
This book is a great comprehensive teaching tool on how to make sourdough bread. It has step by step instructions, photos, QR codes to videos and a lot of reference pages to troubleshooting and general information all packed up in one book.I am so glad that I found this book as well as Maurizio ‘s newsletters.It’s all the information you will need to be successful at making sourdough bread.Thank you Maurizio , you are a great teacher!Grace Ward

Wonderful
Book was recommended by a friend. Who had been using this book for awhile and loves every recipe they have done so far. I’ve never done bread like this before and so far it’s wonderful! The details of the steps is great. Really walks you through the whole process. Even has parts that show trouble shooting if something went wrong. Has QR codes for videos on whatever recipe you are doing. Highly recommend getting the spiral bound book for ease of use while baking

I just received my cookbook yesterday and already love it! So easy to understand and the recipes look amazing. I can’t wait to start baking them.

A constant resource for the serious bread baker.
This book is great. I was a little overwhelmed when I first started looking thru it as I myself am a beginning bread baker. I find myself referring to the information constantly. The steps, recipes, pictures and scan codes throughout the book are extremely helpful.
