Amazing to say the least
In purchasing this guitar, I had hoped to change my life musically.I taught myself to play endogenous wood flutes years ago and eventually made a profession of it. Never having played a guitar and not knowing if I would stick with it as I did the flutes, I wanted an inexpensive guitar that I could teach myself to play and if I ultimately chose not to keep playing, would not have spent much money on it. The beauty of the guitar, the price and the accessories that come with it, along with the reviews are what sold me on this guitar. When it arrived I was truly blown away by how beautiful it was. It was so much more beautiful then the pictures in the listing. Then I tried to tune it and was having a lot of trouble keeping the strings from hitting the frets and buzzing the strings. There are no instructions that come with the guitar and apparently the action had to be adjusted before tuning the guitar.Action is something I learned about at Guitar Center a few days before my guitar arrived. For you beginners like me, "Action" is the distance between the frets on the guitar neck and the strings. Setting the distance is done with the Allen wrench provided with the guitar and turning the nut inside of the guitar at the base of the neck clockwise to tighten or counter clockwise to loosen. The "Action" on my guitar required loosening and at that point I was able to tune my strings properly. If I had not learned about this earlier, I would likely have thought it was a defective guitar and returned it.Once I tuned it properly with the built in tuner, the sound quality was amazing just as previous reviewers stated. But now I had another challenge. I had never played and while I knew a few cords, and without callouses, I could only play for short stretches. I went back to Guitar Center for suggestions and it was recommended that I use Silk/Steel strings by Martin seen in the photo. I was told they would be easier on the fingers. I purchased them and put them on in replacement of the strings that come with the guitar. They made my guitar already great sounding guitar, sound even better still, and yes the strings were a lot easier on my fingers. Now that the guitar is in tune and the strings are easier on my fingers, I am playing loner periods of time and having an amazing time learning. If and when I should graduate to the high end guitars that my past fellow performers are accustomed to, the once thought of as a temporary guitar for me, is now a guitar I will keep for life no matter what. I love this guitar more then words can describe and it is already changing my life musically as I had hoped. After the initial challenges were successfully addressed I would give this guitar a 10 out of 10 for beauty, sound quality, workmanship, ease of play and pleasure.

Great price good guitar
I had to do a little adjustment when I got it but that's inevitable with the shipping but besides that excellent buy for the price

Better than I thought
My husband got this for me as a beginner. It sounds really good. We thought that it may have a basic sound because it's cheaper, but we were wrong. Totally worth the money!

Poor quality finish but, with a QC sticker.
The guitar came in a cardboard guitar box. It arrived in good shape. After unwrapping and tuning. The strings are light phosphor bronze. You might expect this in an acoustic amplified guitar. The finish is flat black even on the neck. the is finish was not applied completely, especially around the sound hole. There is no pick guard. The rosette or is a decal placed around the sound hole The silver colored decal is applied in an irregular manner and my finger tips can scratch it off easily. A close look shows the bead around the top and back edge to be irregular. The tuners appear to be nice closed tuners but, even after tuning there is slop in them. This causes a nervous feeling as to if they will last. The fretboars seems nicely made but, the finish on it is irregular. The interior bracing has scalloped edges. My imperssion is that this is a cheaply finished guitar. Its price should not be more than $50-$60.At initial playing the sound is reasonable. There is no buzz from the light strings. a light touch is needed for useful sound. The lower bridge is a compensated bridge that does not seem to compensate the tuning on the frets and the fretboard. I like the way the cutout is placed and designed. I have paid 65 dollars for guitars that a lot better sound, and I am still playing them. I can't recommend this for an entry level guitar player. The main reason for my statement is that entry level tries to teach useful sound from the instrument and this Kadence guitar with extra setup by a luthier might be able to help in this goal. I have not evaluated the electronics yet. I will play the guitar for a few days and update my eval. later.

Truss rod
When the guitar arrived, my first impression wasn't good. The neck had a severe back bow to the point that the strings were tight against the frets. And the frets all had a white film(overspray)all over it. And the strings on the guitar had corrosion on them. After removing the strings I had to scrape off the overspray and clean the fret wires.I adjusted the neck to fix the backbone and discovered the truss rod was in a neutral position..as if no one took the time to adjust it at all ..despite having a QC sticker. The truss rod adjusted the neck but it was a challenge.End result...not a bad little guitar( I bought it as a campfire guitar). It's a good looking guitar to own and actually sounds really good.If you are a novice...this might not be something you should buy. Unless you know a luthier that will set it up or know how to adjust a guitar.
